Welcome Seminarian Andy Gonzalez!
We are blessed to have Andy in residence at Holy Spirit this summer. Read his greeting letter to the parishioners of Holy Spirit and St Joseph:
My brothers and sisters in Christ,
I send you my greetings and God's peace! My name is Andy Gonzalez, and I am so blessed to be with all of you at St. Joe's Parish and Holy Spirit Parish this summer for my seminary internship. I have been looking forward to this experience, and I can't wait to get started! But first, let me introduce myself a bit more.
I grew up in Olmsted Falls at St. Mary of the Falls Parish. I have two older brothers, both of whom are married with six (and one on the way) and three children. I graduated from Olmsted Falls High School in 2002 and Baldwin-Wallace College in 2006. I went on to work at Hyland Software in Westlake until 2013, when at that time I felt that God might be calling me to the priesthood.
I entered seminary in the fall of 2013, and I just completed my fourth year of formation at St. Mary Seminary in Wickliffe. These past four years have been an amazing adventure, and while it has not always been easy, God has given me a peace, joy, and purpose like I had never known before. Our Father wants each of us to know that we truly are His beloved sons and daughters, and He has a purpose and mission for each of us. It all starts with relationship. From our relationship with God in the Church, we come to know our truest identities. And who we are in our Father's eyes reveals His particular mission of love for each of us.
Thanks be to God for all that He has given me in life, especially the opportunity to be with you all! It is my prayer that the Holy Spirit fills our hearts so that we may encounter Christ in one another and share God's presence with those in need.
Your brother in Christ,
