Caring Ministries

Caring Ministries

Bereavement Ministry...involves a group of parishioners who have suffered the loss of a loved one, by visits to the funeral home, sympathy cards to the bereaved family, educational seminars and an annual All Souls Day Mass.

Calling/Visiting the Homebound...extends companionship to the aged, lonely, and isolated who may lack the contact of family and friends.  Regular, personal visits are made by committed volunteers.

Food Bank…collects non-perishable food and personal items as well as cash donations on the first Sunday of the month.  It provides supplemental aid to needy parish families first, then for families in the community.

Prayer Chain...this group of people is very dedicated to praying for the special intentions of our parish.  If you have a prayer intention that you would like our prayer chain to remember, or if you would like to become part of this dedicated group, please call the parish office.

Sharing Tree and Wish List...our traditional holiday opportunity to embrace others who are less fortunate with gifts and basic clothing needs.  This program helps the children and families of our own ‘Food Bank’ program, the Vietnamese Catholic Community, the Avon Lake Community Resource Program, and children from St. Boniface School on W. 54th St.

Social Concerns Commission...educates people about the social mission of the Church.  Involvement in service and advocacy encourages the parish community to respond to issues which effect social change.
